I recorded this song as part of my "Gotcha Covered" podcast series. You can check out the podcast on Spotify/Apple Podcasts/Google Podcasts. In each episode, I cover a song by someone i admire, then interview them about the song and all things songwriting.
"Grey Skies Blue" is a simple, stripped down song about heartache. It's beautiful melody is brought to life by an intertwining male and female vocal. The production is simple, less is more! Acoustic Guitar, Bass & Drums. Recorded live in Austin, Texas. The song was written after a lover had to move away, ending a relationship in it's infancy. Sometimes relationships end before they've ran their course, leaving us wondering "What could have been?"
lyrics
Make the coffee make the bed
Clear the dusty cobwebs from my head
And I think of you, and all the things you do
To make my Grey Skies Blue
Hello again valentine,
You drank up all my wine
But I don't mind, cause baby I know you
Could make my Grey Skies Blue
I Start, I stop
I tie myself in Knots
I'm here, you're there
Who says life is fair?
It's just your voice on the phone,
And I'm living in the wrong timezone
You're so far away, but baby I know you
Could make my Grey Skies Blue
I Start, I stop
I tie myself in Knots
I'm here, you're there
Who says life is fair?
It's just your voice on the phone,
And I'm living in the wrong timezone
You're so far away, but baby I know you
Could make my Grey Skies Blue
